Job Overview: Battery Pack Assembly Technician
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Battery Pack Assembly Technician to join our production team. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling battery packs used in electric vehicles (EVs), energy storage systems, and other battery-powered applications. You will work closely with engineers and quality control teams to ensure each battery pack meets our safety, performance, and design standards.
As a Battery Pack Assembly Technician, you will be involved in all stages of the battery assembly process—from preparing cells and components, to welding, wiring, testing, and final quality checks. This position requires a hands-on professional with strong technical aptitude, a commitment to safety, and the ability to follow precise instructions and documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble battery packs using lithium-ion or other battery chemistries.
- Perform spot welding, soldering, wire crimping, and mechanical fastening.
- Conduct visual inspections and electrical tests to ensure quality and functionality.
- Read and interpret assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
- Maintain accurate records of materials, test results, and production output.
- Collaborate with quality and engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve assembly issues.
- Follow ESD (electrostatic discharge), safety, and cleanroom procedures.
- Operate tools and equipment such as multimeters, torque drivers, welders, and thermal systems.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or ITI in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, or a related field.
- 1+ year experience in battery pack assembly or electronics manufacturing preferred.
- Ability to read schematics and technical drawings.
- Familiarity with lithium-ion battery safety and handling procedures.
- Strong hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting.
Work Environment:
- Fast-paced manufacturing floor environment.
- May require standing for extended periods and lifting light to moderate loads.
- Use of PPE (personal protective equipment) is mandatory.
